Tito's Vodka ala Chickalina!

There are very few times in life when you try something and go - Wow! That was the first response I had when I tried this new Vodka that is handmade from Austin, Texas. I was on my way to Birmingham for the holidays this past year and stopped at the liquor store. I saw this new vodka in a nice velvet bag and when I read the label I thought I had to try it because it was handmade from Austin. I love handcrafted items and with all the ridiculous fancy vodka bottles to choose from nothing compares to this one. It is the smoothest and best tasting vodka I have ever tasted!

When I pulled out this vodka and gave a taste to my family they all flipped out. We were so smitten with it that they were bummed that it was from Texas and they wouldn't be able to get it in Birmingham.

Then a couple weeks went by and my sister and my aunt went to the liquor store to pick up some stuff for a dinner party they were having and when they walked in they saw this huge display that read "THE BEST VODKA IN THE WORLD!" My sister flipped out and they were screaming and laughing. People were turning around looking at them and my sister purchased a big bottle and made shots for everyone all night. Needless to say, everyone had a great time, a diamond ear ring was lost, a few passed out and everyone woke up the next day....feeling great. That's right, you don't get a hang over from this stuff and I think besides tasting pretty much like water, not waking up with a pounding headache at 3am is the bomb!

Last weekend I was planning a dinner with a friend and decided to make new cocktail with my new found favorite vodka. I just happened to find Ocean Spray's Blueberry Juice and thought it would make a lovely splash with a twist of lime. And guess what...it was - smooth, bright and the perfect chick drink. So I give you a new martini girls - ala Chickalina!

Try it with your girlfriends...You will love it.

Here's a little something to close on tonight...If you could change your fate, would you?

Think about it...what are you doing in life to make a change, a change in a new direction.

Make Life About Your Passions...

I've been watching re-runs of Kim and Kourtney take New York and I just can't help but think about how lost Kim is and much of that reminds me of myself at that age. Somehow we are programed in life to get married, have children and live happily ever after. But more of more of us are starting to figure out that we don't need another person or dead-end situation to complete our lives. Sometimes we have to dig deeper, deep down into our souls and find out what it is that really makes us wonder, are we living our life the way we really want or are we following a tradition that many have failed?

As I grow older I have found that more and more people my age are re-discovering themselves and finding ways to fulfill their life passions. Maybe you are more familiar with the term, "Having a Mid-Life Crisis". I call it discovering your inner spirit and developing it to fulfill your soul with what you really need, not what others expect of you.

Many of my friends have been in several disappointing relationships, jobs and living in a rut. I can relate to that a few years ago, but now I'm going for it, doing what I want, when I want, with who I want and not looking back. I mean, hey, I'm not getting any younger and I don't want to regret not doing some things that would have made me feel better and fulfilled.

Being a creative person all of my life, I'm learning new things, creating things to share with others and meeting new friends.

Some of these friends are people I work with and after getting to know them a little better, I'm finding that many are being held back by their situation, their fear and negative energy that others project onto them. I see people who have had all kinds of regimented jobs that make a change to make less money, but do what they love. I guess money doesn't buy happiness but as Marilyn Monroe said "But it sure helps!"

Have your ever just stopped and thought, wait a minute...What would happen if I tried this, or what would evolve if I just followed my own muse?

Nobody knows what will happen, but that's the beauty of it. Take a leap of faith, go find your own muse and rediscover yourself. You might not be richer but I bet you will be happier!

Take a few minutes today to stop and think about what you can do to make a change in your life and make your life about your passions.

Be Passionate...

Whitney Houston - The Greatest Voice of All...

There are times in our lives when music plays a big part of how we feel when we get dressed in the morning or drive in our cars with the windows down and volume pumped up. One voice that has been a big part of my life was the incredible voice of Whitney Houston.

Today, I was getting my morning coffee and turned on the TV to her the worst news to start my day. Whitney Houston was found unresponsive in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton. Wow...it happened, she gone.

It's really not a surprise given the up and down life she had lead these past few years. I believe her heart was broken and she was lost. I have watched Whitney crumble and it's a place that many have gone to and not come back.

Since we don't know exactly what happened to bring her to her death. We must believe that there was a magical force that wanted to save her soul before it was completely broken. I know Whitney was a spiritual person who always knew her roots. The dark forces that kept her up and down and back and forth didn't win. For God has taken this troubled soul and will leave us with incredible memories of that lovely voice.

Whitney was a beautiful woman, with a voice that resonated with us all. So Whitney...My your new journey be special and may you become whole.

For you had the greatest voice of all...
