Mad Tea Party Today! Please come in...

The sun was bright and glowing through my window this morning.  It felt so warm and inviting.  Excited to get out and explore, I jumped out of bed and got ready for this gorgeous day.  Got a quick shower, threw my hair in a braid and ate a quick meal.  I'm so excited to see what happens today.

I’m going to a secret place that I think you will enjoy…

Won’t you join me?
What a wonderful day for a bike ride.  The air is light and crisp; the sun is bright and warm.

I peddled quickly to this mysterious place that I passed the other day.
I had knocked on the door to see if anyone would open the door.
A little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes slowly opened the door and said “Please come back on July 28th”.

I asked her why and she said “Because on that day I will take you to a place that will change your life”.

Curious as to what that was all about, I couldn’t wait to come back and see!
I arrived at the old house and ran to the top of the stone steps.
I tried to turn the vibrant amethyst crystal door handle but it wouldn’t move.  So I knocked on the door…
No answer…I bent down and looked through the keyhole.  Wow…What a beautiful magical place that looks like behind that door.  I waited impatiently and then knocked again.  A few seconds later – The door crept open.
There she was, that darling little girl.  “Why Hello” she said with a soft delicate voice.  “So glad you came back to see me today.  Please, let your hair down, relax and come in…”

I did as she asked and took the braid out of my hair.  My soft curls cascaded down my back as I took off out the braids.  She opened the door and when I looked through, everything was different than it was when I looked through that keyhole.  It was bright and vibrant with lots of clouds floating right in front of me.   It was as if I was walking into heaven.

The most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen.  I turned around and the little girl said “Here now, we have to blind fold you for the boat ride.”  Taken back by what she said, before I knew it was I blindfolded and wondering where in the world she was taking me.
We rode on a boat for what seemed only just a few seconds.  When we arrived she took off my blindfold and it was a spectacular site.  A heart shaped island surrounded by crystal blue water.   “Where are we?” I said “Why we are at Eden” she declared.  “Eden? I’ve never heard of this place before.”  I said softly as I looked around in astonishment.
“I’m sure you have, you just didn’t realize it really exists and we will show you how it can heal you.”  She said.  “You see, the earth belongs to you.  Discover it and find the hidden treasures of the world.  For God has provided an abundance of natural resources to help heal your heart, nourish your body and transform your soul.”  She said softly as she took my hand and we stepped out onto the beach.

“Come follow me…” I walked behind her as she held my hand with her tiny little hands and took me into the forest off the beach.
The forest was so stunning and serene. We crossed over a wooden bridge that pulled us deeper into the forest.  Where could we possibly be going I thought?
As we walked around the bend I spotted the most exquisitely blue lagoon.  The little girl said “I want you to dive into that water and look for the mermaid.”  As I turned to her she was gone…vanished.
“Oh my, how am I going to ever get out of this place?”  I whispered.  I thought I must be crazy but I dove into the water.  When I opened my eyes, there was a mermaid with a bright orange tail!
“Come, follow me…” the mermaid said.  I could hear her perfectly under the water.  It was magical.

We swam through the crystal blue waters and to a glowing cave.
The mermaid turned to me and said “Now, swim through there and when you come up you will follow the path to a house in the trees.”

I swam through the blue waters and gasped for air.  What is going on?  This must be a dream. I thought to myself.

I stepped up onto the waters bank and as I looked up there was a bright light that was beaming down in streams of blue shining on the wings of a fairy.

This forest was becoming so incredibly magical.   “Hi” the fairy said.  “I’m Jade, and I will lead you to the house in the trees.”

We walked through the forest and as I gazed around I could see tiny little fairy’s all over the place.  One was hanging out with some little birds.

“Oh this can’t be” I said.  “Oh yes, this is real. Come through here.”  She said.
I gazed up and in front of me there was the most incredible tree house I have ever seen.  It glowed in orange, the same color as the mermaid’s tail!
“Go on dear, go through that door.”  The fairy said.

The doorway was lit up with vibrant fuchsia vines and a cute little kitty was waiting by the door.   I wonder if this kitty is going talk to me, I thought to myself.  I walked up the heavy stone steps and through the door.
There was a woman dancing in a flowing dress.   She motioned me to come to her.  “Would you like something to drink my dear?” she asked.  “All I would really like a nice cup of tea ” I answered.
She and turned and said with a sultry southern drawl, “That can be arranged, my dear.”
She poured me a nice cup of tea in a vintage gold scrolled tea cup.  As I looked into the tea it was the same color of the vines on the side of house and I could see the reflection of the trees behind me.

As I sat and sipped my tea, the woman asked me all kinds of questions.
“How are you feeling my dear?”
“What do you do to take care of yourself?”
“Are you eating the right foods?”
“Do you have any pain in your body?”
“Are you in a happy relationship?”
“Are you close to your family?”
“Do you feel real joy?”
“Do you think you will live a long life?”
With all of the questions swirling around, I had to catch my breath.  “Oh my, I’ve never thought of all these things at one time before.”  I said with panic in my voice.

“Well dear, it’s never too late to experience great wellness.  As a matter of fact, that tea you’re drinking is a special kind of tea.”  “A special tea?  What makes this so special besides the color?”  I replied.  “That tea is made from the spirit plant from my tree.”

She took my hand and we gazed out the window.  Right in front of the window were mushrooms growing from the wood of the tree.
“Do you see those mushrooms growing by that tree?”  she asked “Yes, I do” I  replied.  “Those are medicinal mushrooms. They are another form of a Spirit Plant.  They hold incredible energy and are used to treat a variety of ailments.

I know you suffer from a weakened immune system and I made this tea just for you to help make you vibrant again.”  I looked at her in astonishment.  Wow, this is the most incredible thing I’ve ever heard.

“Spirit plant energy connects deep within us.  Their life force energies invite our bodies and consciousness to harmonize with our energies, entering us into a healing flow.  Their very presence invites and facilitates our deepening of inner sensitivity.  Spirit plants work with healers who in human form, they are teachers, medicine people and healers.  And what the healing plants teach us are their own secrets – where there is sickness in the body or soul, they will heal.”  She added

“These Healers understand that true healing is more than “fixing” a physical ailment. They know that when dis-ease occurs in the body, the essence of a person is misaligned and that to be effective in a returning to health one must reach into the core of the person to bring about a change toward balance. In these modern times this “core essence” of a person is understood in terms of energy. There are meridians or “pathways of light” within our body through which energy flows, the auric field which is the energy body that surrounds our physical body and chakras.  Chakras are energy centers within the body.”  She said.

Then she took me to a table with some stunning crystals laid out in a pattern.  “These crystals are laid out in a healing grid.  The energy that flows through these crystals will flow through the energy fields and whatever the intention is to manifest healing, these crystals will help facilitate this process.”  I stood there in awe of what she was saying to me and knew that I was being called to do great things.

“These energy vortexes exchange energy with the external world.  Energy exists everywhere, it can neither be created nor destroyed and manifests as heat, light and movement.  This energy allows healing to take place efficiently and effectively”  She added

“I’m incredibly moved by what you are teaching me.”  I said.  “I want you to go and learn about all of the spirit plants, crystals and resources that God has given us and go teach others of their healing.  Teach them how to cook with using these powerful ingredients from the earth and help show others how to transform their lives.  Tomorrow when you awaken, you will think this is a dream.  But my dear this is for real.  So go on now, help change the world with these secrets. People are dying to be well”  She said and all of the sudden it was dark.

As I looked around I saw a bright light and beautiful pink trees.
A woman in the water was gazing at me.  “You must …Believe to Receive.”  She said
I woke up in a sweat.  Oh this was a dream.

Or is it for real?..

My Weekend Affair...with Mr. Grey

Ah….It’s the weekend and nothing helps you escape reality like a good book, right? How about my new book on Amazon?  Check it out...

Well lately I have been so busy with work and school in the evenings studying my nutritional information for my certification that I haven’t even watched my guilty pleasures on TV.  However I did decide to finally read the ever so anticipated story about…50 Shades of Grey.  I was looking for a different type of reality escape and this book filled the need.

I have to say that I haven’t read a book so fast in my entire life!  It’s not that it’s just an easy read it’s the complexity of character and the way it took me back a few years that kept me so enthralled.   22 years ago I had my own little affair with a similar man to Mr. Grey.  He was captivating, sensual and the electricity that we exchanged the moment we met drew us to together instantly.  It’s that energy that you feel when you have a connection with someone that you can’t seem to understand.  It’s a powerful force that is shared by two people which is what I call Soul Energy.

I imagine that is the same energy that was felt between the two characters, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.  Soul Energy is exchanging energy that originates from our souls rather than the body.  It’s an incredible force that when experienced between two people it’s about pleasuring and being pleasured in whatever consensual form it takes.

Intimate touch involves all the senses. It’s the most engrossing human act we can experience.  I guess that’s what is so alluring to all of these women who have been going absolutely nuts over reading this trilogy.

It’s also the way that Mr. Grey captivates Ana at every moment she is with him.  She feels completely drained by his energy.  Even though he has a dark secret and has his own demons, which I guess most of us do in one way or another.  He’s also a gentleman, funny, intimidating, controlling, incredibly rich, stylish, sexy, plays piano, flies airplanes, a businessman…let me see…who wouldn’t be captivated by this guy?  He’s the bad boy that every girl falls for and I’m one of them.  Hell he had me at Chapter 5.
I bet when the author wrote this book she had to make a character be something that all woman would desire to attract such a huge following of readers.  That’s the problem boys…woman like a man that is attentive, sexy, controlling and all of the above.  Chilvary is not dead and Mr. Grey delivers on every level.  It’s what is missing in most relationships.  We just don’t want to admit it.

Being an independent woman myself, I could entertain the idea of being submissive to Mr. Grey…
I’ve been doing a little research on who is up for the lead role of Mr. Grey and I’m got two people as my pick.  They have to have all of the qualities to pull this off.

Alluring Grey Eyes (Check)
Oozing Sex (Check)
Intimidating (Check)
Controlling (Check)
Funny (Check)
Charming (Check)
And the most important …Enigma (Check..Check)

The two actors I pick…
 Ryan Gosling

Ian Somerhalder

Both of them are capable of playing the role and delivering the character to my satisfaction.  I do believe that Ian has more of the physical qualities than Ryan; however Ryan could possibly win the title by his acting ability.

I’ve been watching Ryan in different roles from his romantic characters in the Notebook and Blue Valentine, to egotistical, funny and sexy in Crazy Stupid Love to intoxicating in one of his latest movies, Drive where he is masculine and mysterious.

Ian Somerhalder is great in the Vampire Diaries. He's sexy, mysterious and I just love his sarcasm.  I’ve also heard that he is being very vocal and wants the part.  I can absolutely see him in it.  Those eyes of his are hypnotic and draw you in which is key to this character. Plus he has the chiseled face which is noted in the book.

So as I continue to read this weekend.  I guess my mind will go to both actors as an image I hold in my mind of Mr. Grey.  It’s a fun little fantasy.  One I recommend to all of you women out there.

Sometimes we just need a great escape to ignite the senses. 50 Shades of Gray is the perfect prescription.  It captivates and moves you.  Gets your inner energies flowing and helps brighten your mood, just by reading a book.  Well done EL James…

Powerful Intentions...To create your world

What a powerful statement! Lately I've been noticing that the universe is opening up new opportunities around me that are all aligned with my intention.  I've had so many pieces of the puzzle laying around waiting to fit together.  It's been a process over the past few years.  But it all started to happen in full force just recently because I clearly defined my intention...

One thing that is really incredible is how my life is manifesting opportunities that are fitting into my 5 year plan...I believe that once I decided on what "I" wanted in my life, then the universe is working in the background to bring it to fruition.  It's an exciting time for me.  I can say I feel it...I really feel it!

Another thing that is has been happening is that I'm finding that through discussions with friends and family that a lot of us are stuck in life because we haven't made a decision on what we need to have the life we deserve.  What do we want? I mean really want; in relationships, career, family, personal goals, etc.  These are all the primary needs that feed our lives.  Sometimes we get stuck, we are either scared or comfortable with a situation but it's not really want we desire.  I sure know I was stuck for about 12 years!  We get bogged down with hurt or going through the motions of everyday life that we lose sight of our desires.

Now that I'm approaching 50, I've really had a come to Jesus meeting with myself.  I'm not getting any younger and I sure don't want to live the next 10 years the way I was living the past 10 years.

Soul searching and looking into my innermost desires has helped me define what I intend to have in my life, through my relationship with my family, my career and where I want to live and be when I grow up.

What's incredible is once I had the heart to heart with myself and clearly defined my life's passions and intent to live my life, I am seeing the power of the universe work in mysterious ways.  It's truly incredible.

So if your feeling a little stuck in life and need a boost, maybe it's time to sit down with yourself and ask yourself what you "really" want in life, how could you get it, what could you change to make progress or what do you need to change in your life to make room for the new.  It's a powerful exercise and I highly recommend it.

Try This:

Write down what you wish was different in your life.

Then write down what you know is holding you back.

Now look at what you can do create more room for a postive force of energy to guide the way.

Meditate on it.

Be thankful for what is good in your life.

Wait to see what opportunities present themselves to you to take you on a different path.

Be open to it and trust your intuition.

Act on it and don't wait.

Just wait...You have to believe to receive my friends...

The Secret to Life...

I have some very exciting news to share with you!  During my journey of finding balance in my world through eating healing foods, I've decided that I want to continue helping others find the same balance by getting my certification at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to be a Health Coach.  This next year will be a lot of studying and preparation for my new venture and what I hope to do is continue to inspire others to start using these incredible ingredients God has provided us in our universe to heal us.

I will be studying with approximately 80 well known experts in the field of health, nutrition and business.  It's a holistic approach to wellness and I can't be more excited.

So what exactly is a Health Coach you ask?  Well a Health Coach offers guidance and inspiration to help people shift their behavior to healthier habits.  Developing a deeper understanding of the foods and lifestyle choices that work best for them, and implement lasting changes that improve their energy, balance and health.

Instead of prescribing one specific diet a Health Coach focuses on teaching people to eventually be self-sufficient by learning to observe the body's responses to various modifications and choose health-promoting behaviors that work for them.

Since I have 12 years of experience in the food industry and love to cook, I want to teach others to cook using nutrient rich ingredients.  A lot of people know how to cook but they don't know how to cook healthy and make it taste Wickedly Delicious!  When most people think of cooking healthy they immediately think they have to eat boring salads or snack on carrot sticks and celery.  I want to help people learn all about what incredible food is available to eat to find balance.

I've also learned from overseeing a gourmet-to-go retailer that a lot of people don't even know how to cook.  It blows my mind to think that people don't cook.  But most of them have never been taught so they order take out or prepackaged meals everyday.

My mission is to teach others and hopefully inspire more people to live life with more balance.

Thanks for stopping by...Stormy

There is Light...

For the past 12 years I've been working my way out of a dark hole.  From several challenges of a failed marriage, my father's illness and passing, my heart issues and struggles of a single mother.  However I've been in a much better place by being positive, working hard and learning new ways to help my body and mind move towards the light of higher good and using the tools of the universe to help me in a variety of ways.  This blog is my quest to change my life, through healing in energy and food, connections, and sharing with others to help change their life as well.

8 weeks ago I did some research on the effects of consuming wheat and when I decided to eliminate it completely from my diet, my world made a dramatic change.  My inflammation was gone, bye bye...no more. I can't tell you how freeing that was for me.  I was living with so much pain and I couldn't figure out why.  When I gave up wheat I was immediately consumed by more energy and was able to do things that I couldn't do before due to the pain of inflammation.  In combination with all of the other things that I was doing to make improvements towards a more healthy lifestyle now things were starting work right.  It seems the wheat was holding me back.

Everything is falling into place now.  Doing DDP Yoga has been another incredible addition to my life.  It's helping me become stronger and flexible.  I'm enjoying it so much and love the incredible workout it gives me with absolutely no impact.

If your looking for ways to find more energy, feel better and want to make a change.  Look into changing wheat consumption from your diet and incorporate some great exercise such as DDP Yoga.  I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Summer Fruit Salad...Afternoon Delight!

Sweet Mango
Luscious Strawberries
Ruby Red Cherries
Oh My!

Summer is full of beautiful fruits and learning to combine them with the right ingredients can make a boring fruit salad turn into something extraordinary.   Combining different flavor profiles of fruit and elevating the flavors by adding fresh herbs and seasonings make this fruit salad healthy and nutrient rich.  No sugar needed.  Just pure food.

Sweet Mango
The fragrance, the taste and the health promoting qualities of the mango make it a super food also known as "The King of Fruits".  Mango fruit is an excellent source of Vitamin-A and flavonoids like beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin. Together; these compounds are known to have antioxidant properties and are essential for vision. Vitamin A is also required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin. Mango is a very rich source of potassium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure. Also a very good source of vitamin-B6, vitamin-C and vitamin-E. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful oxygen free radicals. Vitamin B-6 is required for GABA hormone production in the brain. It also controls homocystiene levels in the blood, which may otherwise be harmful to blood vessels resulting in CAD and stroke.

Strawberries
Strawberries are rich in Vitamins B and C and are low in calories and fats but rich source of many health promoting phyto-nutrients, minerals and vitamins that are essential for optimum health.  They contain a good amount of minerals like potassium, manganese, fluorine, copper, iron and iodine.  Potassium in an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure.  Manganese is used by the body as a co-factor for the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase. Copper is required in the production of red blood cells.  Iron is required for red blood cell formation.
Cherries
Cherry fruit is packed with full of health-benefiting nutrients and unique antioxidants.  Cherry fruits are very rich in stable anti-oxidant melatonin. Melatonin can cross the blood-brain barrier easily and produces soothing effects on the brain neurons, calming down nervous system irritability, which helps relieve neurosis, insomnia and headache conditions.  Anti-inflammatory property of cherries has been found effective in reducing heart disease risk factors by scavenging action against free radicals.
Walnuts
Since ancient times the walnut was a symbol of intellectuality since their kernels have convoluted surface inside the shell resembling as that of brain!  Walnuts are rich source of energy and contain many health benefiting nutrients, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins that are essential for optimum health. Eating just as much as 25 g each day provides about 90% of recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids. Research studies have suggested that omega-3 fatty acids by their virtue of anti-inflammatory action helps to lower the risk of blood pressure, coronary artery disease, strokes and breast, colon and prostate cancers.  They are also excellent source of Vitamin E. Vitamin E is a powerful lipid soluble antioxidant, required for maintaining the integrity of cell membrane of mucus membranes and skin by protecting it from harmful oxygen free radicals. They are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids.  Regular intake of walnuts in the diet help to lower total as well as LDL or “bad cholesterol” and increase HDL or “good cholesterol” levels in the blood. Research studies suggest that a diet that is rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acids and omega-3 fatty acids help to prevent coronary artery disease and strokes by favoring healthy blood lipid profile.
Cilantro
Cilantro contains many notable plant derived chemical compounds that are known to have disease preventing and health-Cilantro is one of the richest herbal sources for vitamin K. Vitamin-K has potential role in bone mass building by promoting osteotrophic activity in the bones. It also has established role in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease patients by limiting neuronal damage in their brain.promoting properties.

So the next time you reach for the vanilla ice cream on a hot summer day.  Ask yourself...Does it pack the punch of nutrients as a sweet summer salad?
